This issue's questions:

Q.
Is there a significant performance difference between RG-6 and RG-59 coaxial cable?
A.
RG-59 is a lower grade of coax, consisting of a smaller center conductor, a smaller insulating dielectric, and a single outer shield. Comparatively, RG-6 has a much larger center conductor, a dual or quad shield, and a much larger insulating dielectric. RG-6 has more bandwidth, is less susceptible to interference, and delivers exceptional performance for CATV satellite, and digital television.
Q.
How far can you realistically run horizontal cabling?
A.
You can run basic link cable for 90 meters (295 feet), allowing another 10 meters of patch and jumper cables in the work area and telecommunications closet.
