50 Years In The Making

Celebrating Standard Electric’s 50th Anniversary in a year more likely to be remembered for economic deterioration, the collapse of once unshakable financial and religious bastions, and inhumane acts of terror is certainly not what we would have designed. Thankfully, largely due to the solid foundation upon which our company is built, we are able to effectively face these challenges, embrace our past and focus on our future.

To me, the most important legacy passed on by Standard Electric’s founder, Abe Brand, has been his heartfelt commitment to providing this company with a solid and secure future—something he has done from the day he began the business in 1952. Today, our ability to reach inward to tap the strength and stability we’ve built over the past half-century has been an essential component of our company’s success in maneuvering through these turbulent and difficult times.

Our company, our industry, and myself personally, owe a great deal to this humble man who combined a passionate work ethic with extraordinary human compassion to build a business that has made tremendous contributions to our industry, as well as helped to provide a better life for hundreds of families for over five decades.
